Position Summary:

We are looking for a cell culture specialist to join our team to support our work on continuous cell production of adherent cells for cultured meat. You will be responsible in culturing a broad range of adherent cells for other members of the team and organising the cryostorage stocks. You will be working as integral part of a team under the direct supervision of our CSO and CTO.

Key Activities & Main Responsibilities:

·      Responsible for the growth of multiple cell types for the downstream team  

·      Responsible for preparing cryostorage cell stocks

·      Responsible for media preparation for the whole team

·      Prepare monthly reports to the CSO

·  Participate in meetings/experimental design with our engineering team when required

·      Updating R&D, H&S and SOPs documentation

·      Keep up to date with pertinent developments within relevant field of interest

Essentials:

·      No less than a Master Degree in Biological sciences or equivalent subject(s)

·      No less than 5 years experience in culturing multiple cell types

·      Respect deadlines and contribute to project planning

·      Independent, well organised and proactive work style

·      Open-minded and communicative team-player

·      Able to multi-task and work under time pressure

·      Fluent in written and oral English

Desirable:

·      At least 1 year industry experience

·      Experience in performing common cell-based assays

·      Experience with molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-qPCR and Western blotting

·      Knowledgeable in bioengineering and bioprocessing

·      Experience with fluorescent microscopy and immunohistochemistry

·      Experience with Quality systems (e.g. GMP; GLP)

·      Aid in the training and development of junior staff
