Operations & Office Manager

"We are a small team of game-changers who set out to tackle the corporate world of soft drinks giants"

Apply

Social Enterprise beverage brand is looking for a full-time operations manager and all-round multitasking superstar

Back in 2009 we started our #drinkinghelps revolution in Hamburg, Germany. Our goal was to challenge the corporate soft drinks giants, dominating the market with their artificial, unhealthy and unethical range of fizzy pops. Instead of maximising shareholder value, we wanted to find new ways of supporting the people along the supply chain of the Global South; from the tea growers in Sri Lanka to the passion fruit farmers in Peru.

That’s why our range of soft drinks supports Fairtrade and sustainable, organic methods of agriculture. What’s more, 5p from every bottle sold goes to the Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation, with over £5 million raised for social projects in the growing regions to date. Oh, and you will be able see for yourself - because every year, we pack our backpacks and go on project trips to meet the growers and our project partners, like the Heiveld Cooperative in South Africa.

Since our humble beginnings in Germany, our team of global game changers has grown to 100+ and now spans across eight countries. We’re currently a team of six in the UK, responsible for sales and marketing of Lemonaid & ChariTea across the country. With a fast post-pandemic-growth, we need more hands on deck to help keep everything shipshape and the liquid revolution fuelled.

YOUR ROLE

Your main responsibilities & what your role entails

As Operations Manager you will be the integral backbone to our UK sales and marketing team by running the show behind the curtains. From stock purchasing and order management to customer service, sales support and invoicing, you will have a lot of hats on and everyone will count on you. This is a job for all the natural-born multitaskers and several-plate-spinners out there.

You will take the lead on a wide range of tasks to ensure that all operations run smoothly, with a great degree of self-responsibility, so working diligently and keeping on top of things is a must. You will work closely with our field sales team, supporting them with back office tasks, as well as our production team in Germany. You report directly to the UK Managing Director. The place of work is a stunning co-working space in Southwark (part of the Hoxton Hotel Group), with some flexibility around remote working if preferred.

Your typical duties include

  • Responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day operations
  • General office procedures and data handling
  • First point of contact for existing and prospective customers and all other general enquiries via phone and email
  • Order management, invoicing and dunning
  • Inbound and outbound supply chain management, liaising with head office, stockists, wholesalers and events
  • Internal sales support, supervising correct data management on Salesforce
  • Accounts payable and receivable duties, and processing of payroll
  • Responsible for dealing with sponsorship and sampling requests, including negotiating pricing and logistics
  • Assisting the MD with recruitment processes, onboarding new employees and adhoc tasks
  • Organising internal and external company events and activities

ABOUT YOU

We’ve told you a little bit about us; now it’s all about you

  • You hold an undergraduate degree or have equivalent work experience
  • Previous administrative work experience welcome but not strictly necessary
  • Superior organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of office systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Self-sufficient and diligent - can make and deliver on your own work plans
  • Flexible and adaptable as the role changes and grows with the company
