Business Development Manager (Tech Startup)

Veganezzy is looking for a Business Development Manager who is versatile, experienced, and impact driven. We are an early stage tech startup with an MVP which is ready for launch and the key role of the Manager will be to oversee and manage it's successful launch. The role will need the candidate to be comfortable with use of technology, learn our marketplace MVP (a marketplace backend similar in complexity to Amazon or Etsy) and also employ other technology solutions such as CRM, etc. as needed. They will bring insights and passion for successful product launch and adoption by the community. The role will need good oral and written communication skills.

The Manager will be responsible for tasks that include:

  • Customer outreach and relationship building. Customers here are vegan businesses and service providers in Canada, and those who buy their products and services through our platform.
  • Onboarding customers successfully on the platform.
  • Establishing and managing communication systems/emails (developing a CRM system as needed)
  • Working with founder on developing strategy on marketing and messaging through newsletters, social media posts, etc. (We have volunteers to write newsletters, social media posts - the role of manager will be in providing them direction). The manager will be expected to manage LinkedIn page.
  • Monitoring user feedback.
  • Providing insights and solutions to improve the MVP and user experience.
  • Identifying channels of fundraising and key partnerships and networking on ongoing basis.
  • Assisting with any issues as they arise with orders, service requests, etc.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a startup at this early stage and help bring the product to market. This is a part time position with a small stipend given we are a self funded startup. Upon successful launch, there will be an opportunity for equity sharing in near future. You can manage your own time and pace as long as established KPI's are met. A weekly status update meeting with founder is expected as part of the role.

Most importantly, we are looking for candidates who are committed to positive impact, motivated and have a clear sense of their availability for next 3 - 4 months in the least during the critical launch phase (min 10 - 15 hrs a week at a minimum).
