Job Overview

We are a fast growing B-Corp startup who strongly believes every single kencko-er we hire is a key part of our shared success. We are now seeking a full-time Sr. Backend Engineer to help us continue building & maintaining our engine.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of scalable & resilient services & APIs
• Actively engage & participate in building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Work on ways to automate & improve development workflows & release processes
• Use an Agile & DevOps mindset in building and maintaining software
• Work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to solve problems using a pragmatic approach
• Actively participate in creating a team culture that you would want to invite your friends to work in
• Actively engage and be involved in software design & architecture decisions

Experience You Bring

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficient in Python (Flask, FastAPI, Asyncio)
• Building & orchestrating containerized applications with popular tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Building & maintaining production service-based systems
• Proven experience with popular infrastructure as a code (IaC) tools such as terraform
• Proficient in building & maintaining cloud infrastructures
• Excellent communication skills

Nice-To-Haves

• Experience with designing and developing software based on a microservice architecture
• Experience with design patterns such as - domain-driven design, event sourcing, CQRS, distributed tracing, etc.
• Experience working with Shopify and other eCommerce solutions such as Stripe is a strong plus
• Experience with asynchronous messaging for inter-service communication using tools such as RabbitMQ & Apache Kafka
• Experience working with GCP and other cloud service providers. AWS is a big plus
