OUR CLIENT

Mummy Meagz journey began in 2003 when, along with her daughter, she opened Blondes Coffee Shop in the village of Cottingham, East Yorkshire. As a lifelong vegetarian, and now vegan Mummy Meagz provided delicious vegetarian and vegan food made with love, compassion and sprinkle of awesomeness.
Her recipes were breaking all the stigmas attached to vegan food, especially her Rocky Road. No nuts, no fruit. Just all the good stuff.
In January 2017 Mummy Meagz – The Indulgent Vegan Kitchen was born. Significant UK and international retail listings have followed. This cutting-edge range of vegan & gluten-free cake bars & sweet treats are continuing to create a stir in the confectionery grab and go market.
In conjunction with the widespread rise of plant-based food products Mummy Meagz has an excellent opportunity to expand its brand presence across multiple markets, channels and customers. Listings with one of the ‘Big 4’ has been secured and other major retailers have been knocking on the door – the next phase for the business – and what we require the successful candidate to achieve – is to progress this fantastic brand of products into the hearts and tummies of vegan food lovers across the globe!



YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Mummy Meagz are seeking an outstanding Managing Director with commercial acumen and bags of entrepreneurial spirit. You will share in their mission to establish a successful food brand that is breaking the stigmas attached to indulgent vegan treats.
This would be an ideal position for an ambitious commercial leader (on a GM pathway) to step into one of the tastiest growth opportunities in the food industry. There is genuine potential to be unlocked with this brand and the right person could catapult the organisation beyond £10m T/O in the next 3 years!
It is a rare chance to work for a truly consumer led start-up at an early stage of the journey and build a game-changing company. The role holds tremendous potential for a forward-thinking leader to join an ethical business that aligns with their values. Working with the founders you will take ownership for the day-to-day operations including: - Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain. Mummy Meagz are also making great progress expanding their global footprint, a candidate with some international distribution experience will quickly see the level of opportunity that exists overseas.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Managing Director will be responsible for:
• Working with the founders to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth.
• Write and implement a 3 - 5 year roadmap / overarching business plan.
• Leading the brand expansion and working with key stakeholders within – and outside – of the organisation to drive success across the UK & International markets.
• Establish the true scope of marketing opportunities across each channel including retail, foodservice, international and online; building strategic plans to realise them.
• Working closely with the founders to drive consumer led NPD processes and manage EPD & NPD projects, ensuring timely launches.
• Build-out, develop and manage co-manufacturing partnerships to optimise top and bottom-line business performance and product availability.
• Manage the company P&L: maintaining spend reports, cash flow and budgets.
• Assimilating brand and market information to produce brand presentations and monthly status reports for the founders / wider investment partners (Veg Capital).
• Building and leading a high performing team across multiple functions in line with expansion plans.
• Continue to promote the Mummy Meagz company values and proactive working culture.
• Undertake any other tasks commensurate with the requirements and skills and competency base of the role.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Success in a commercial leadership role gained within an FMCG or retail organisation.
• A consistent track record of identifying and unlocking growth opportunities across a wide variety of channels and customers.
• A commercially minded foodie who understands the NPD launch process and the complexities of introducing new innovations to the UK and international food markets.
• Working knowledge of the confectionery categories is highly desirable.
• A broad understanding of consumer, shopper & customer initiatives within the plant-based food sector would also be highly beneficial.
• Action orientated, bringing energy and drive to the immediate and wider team.
• Strong attention to detail and customer facing skills.
• Great team player with the ability to support, to lead, to care and to tell things as they are.
• Astute problem solver with analytical skills to interpret data, future market trends and an ability to challenge the norm.
• A high energy, self-starter who naturally thrives in a culture of individual accountability and shared ownership.
• Entrepreneurial flair - familiar with ambiguity and energised by the process of building a sustainable organisation from the ground up.
• A demonstrable ability to inspire people – both internal and external - around critical issues.
• The successful candidate will be aligned to the mission - displaying a passion for animal welfare, sustainability and protecting the environment.

LOCATION
The successful candidate can be based remotely in the UK but will be required to attend our clients East Yorkshire based HQ 2/3 days per month. Occasional visits to customers and manufacturing facilities come with the territory at this level.

THE DEAL
Salary: £ Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits (Including Pension) + EMI Share Scheme potential
