Senior R&D Project Lead

Your main duty as a Sr. R&D Project Lead will be designing, developing and implementing new products; renovating existing products and creating value for our consumers. You will be managing a complex portfolio of projects and coaching junior R&D Team members.

Our R&D team doesn’t look to only create meat analogs but meat successors, we aim to improve the concept of meat. We are not just looking for tasty products but for amazing nutritionals and more accessible prices. Creating solutions that people want and can purchase everyday.



YOUR CHALLENGE
Let’s start by seeing if you’re passionate about the following responsibilities:

- Manage in full autonomy a complex portfolio of R&Dprojects in all its phases from initial prototyping through to execution to the market
- Translate insights into actionable technical briefs in tnership with marketing and sales teams, based on solid consumer foundation and customer needs
- Collaborate with R&D Team members and partner functions to design, develop and execute new winning products, processes and packages
- Represent, advocate and influence on behalf of R&D in cross-functional Project meetings internally and externally and ensure alignment on project deliverables, actions standards and timing
- Complete proper Knowledge Management throughout the project lifecycle at the appropriate stages and maintain all product development records for intellectual property protection
- Leverage internal and external networks to progress projects
- Provide insight into the pipeline development via a thorough understanding of the consumer, ingredients and process functionality
- Ensure that all project work is within the governance of our Internal Change Management System
- Coach and develop our junior R&D Team members


YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF
- A Msc or Phd in a relevant scientific discipline, Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry or similar
8 +years experience working in Food Product development and commercialisation with a diverse industry technology background, increasing responsibilities and complexity
- A minimum of 2 years in a leadership position managing consumer products, packaging and process/technology development in food companies
- Experience working with external manufacturers and partners is a benefit
- Meat and/or alternative protein industry experience is a plus
- Fluency in English language is a must
- Ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic team
- Self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast paced environment
- Ability to continuously challenge assumptions to seek innovative solutions Results oriented
- Developer of people; builds team spirit; faces difficult situations with tenacity and calm
- Excellent project management and coaching skills
- Good strategic skills; good analytically – can see underlining or hidden problems and patterns
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Strong influencing skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong personal networks both internally and externally
- Comfort around ambiguity and change
