Chef
"We are all nature, we are all super!"
Our environmentally focussed wholefood + fully vegan bar and restaurant in Hackney, east London is currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team full- or part-time for 20-30 hours per week including evenings + weekends.
Our menu is all homemade using plant based wholefoods, and every dish is a celebration of seasonal produce. We source our ingredients as close to home as possible by foraging wild produce, growing our own and buying surplus from our neighbours, purchasing further afield only from carefully selected UK and EU farmers and producers using minimal intervention and regenerative farming methods. We practice zero waste principles by composting, fermenting, dehydrating and through the creative use of every part of each whole raw ingredient.
This exciting new role will suit an experienced chef with a passion for innovative, sustainable and wholefood vegan cuisine who can contribute to menu creation.
Experience of preparing and cooking plant based food in a professional commercial environment and Food Hygiene training are ESSENTIAL. Knowledge of raw cooking techniques, dehydration; fermenting and preservation; sprouting grains and pulses; raw desserts, seasonal menu planning and ‘from scratch’ cooking techniques are a bonus but training can be provided in these areas.
The successful candidate will report directly to Head of Food/Head Chef and will be expected to collaborate with other members of the team who are working on the floor, behind the counter and in areas of the business such as the SITE GARDEN and the SITE LAB. Training can also be provided in these areas if this is of interest.
Shifts are flexible but will always include weekends + evenings.
